Here's the stadium where the Olympics will be held, I need to now create an environment around it.

Futuristic Olympics
So these are my designs for my futuristic Olympics. I have gone for the sport of futuristic hover craft racing, the inspiration has come from the film 'Tron'. I want to keep the design very simple and mainly in black and white. I have originally drawn the designs and then took them into Photoshop.
Its just the environment I need to work on and I have the idea of a big stadium and then the race starts in there and goes out of it on a suspended track.
Side view of my character so I can make it walk

"The Chess Player" Evaluation
So animation complete, a few problems along the way, mainly timing issues. The project started off well, had ideas of what the theme of the animation wanted to look like, in the end I decided on the nuts and bolts idea, making all the chess pieces out of screws and bolts. I designed and modelled them and I was happy with they way they looked, not like your standard chess pieces.
I then started on the design for the arm and I wanted it too look like something similar to the film "Robots" where they are all made out of scrap pieces but look very human, this I feel did not portray in my arm unfortunately, I had problems with modelling my arm and so therefore did not have enough time to have it how I wanted it to look. I feel that the Animation as a whole is OK, it was meant to have a comic effect to it so I chose to have the arm throw the chess board of the table in anger, I feel I portrayed this well. I wish I had started the animation off buy having the game already started so more of the chess pieces were out on the board. There was a mistake which I only noticed until the end of animating and post production that the chess pieces are in one place in one shot and then disappears in another, again if I had more time I would have gone back and corrected this.
I wanted to set the animation in a scrap yard scene hence why I have it sat on an old barrel, if I had more time I would have liked to of added more to the background and created a real scene. To help with the environment I chose a machine noise for the ambient sound as if stuff was going on in the background which couldn't be seen and with a quirky music sound on top to make the animation seem more alive and interesting.
I wanted to create my own textures for the animation so they looked a bit more rustic, I liked the textures that I produced but once they were on the models I felt it didn't quite work, weather I just needed to work more on them in photoshop getting the colour right, but still wanted to use them anyway instead of downloading other peoples images, plus its good practise for next time.
I would have liked to of worked more in the post production as well, creating a better title sequence and generally making it look better.
All the problems I have had will hopefully improve my next animation and will not be repeated.

Still Images
The final image is a mixer of the 2nd and 3rd put into photoshop, to add a bit more richness to the image. This is similar to what the final animation will look like.
